History Of The Internet..

.
The 1969  -Web 0.0- IN THE BEGINNING

The ARPANET was brought online
in 1969 under a contract led by
the renamed Advanced Research
Projects Agency (ARPA)  which
initially connected four major
computers at universities in
the southwestern US.
(UCLA, Stanford Research Institute,
UCSB and the University of Utah).

1993-Web 1.0-BIRTH OF THE WORLD
WIDE WEB

Marc Andreessen develops the browser
Netscape and Bill Gates introduces
Internet Explorer.
For the first time average consumers
can access the internet and send emails.
The www. Phenomenon has begun…

1998 The Internet Explosion,

The number of internet subscribers
increases 15 fold, from 16 million
to 248 million in just 3 years.
The founders of internet companies
anticipating the growth become
billionaires.
(Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon,
eBay, to name a few)

2000-Web 2.0 THE ADVENT OF SOCIAL

NETWORKS

The precursors to Social Networking
are still with us today. Dating Sites,
Instant Messenger and World of War Craft
are examples of the first Social Networks.
The first modern general Social Network,
Friendster, was launched in 2002 and
quickly grew to over 90K subscribers.

2008 Social Media fuels Social Networks.

As corporations seek new and innovative
ways to advertise their attention quickly
turns to the 200 million subscribers
of Social Network.
Recognizing the inevitable merging
of advertising and social networks
–once again, the visionary founders of
Social Network Companies become
multi-millionaires and billionaires.
(Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, eHarmony,
to name a few)

2009 The Internet is Changing Again

With Apple’s introduction of the iPhone,
the Smartphone industry was born. With
the development and distribution of
Google’s Andriod operating system,
Global Smartphone sales have skyrocketed
from 0 – 297 million if only two years.
Projected sales by 2015 2,500 million.

2010 What Makes a smart phone smart.

In a word ..APPS, (short for software
applications) While almost all cell
phones include some sort of software
(even the most basic models these days
include an address book or some sort
of contact manager for example) a
Smartphone has the ability to do more.
It may allow you to create and edit
Microsoft Office documents. It may
allow you to download apps, such as
personal and business finance managers,
 handy personal assistants or well
almost anything. Or it may allow you
to edit photos, geti driving directions
via GPS and create a playlist of digital
tunes.

PC’s Altogether? Behold the Rise of
the Smartphone)

2011 -Web 3.0-  THE MOBILE APP.

With millions of Smartphone subscribers,
the ramifications of companies having
their own apps for advertising purposes
has become irresistible.
Building a simple app can be
affordable for most companies.
Although a developer might charge
$6K to $8K to create a typical app,
a modest app with fewer features
can cost a company around $2K.
Smartphone App market could grow
by over 800% by 2013, Mobile app
revenues would top 15 billion in 3 yrs.

IN OTHER WORDS:

EVER company MUST move with this
technology or
they will lose their market share
to companies who have.
They simply will not survive.

THE FUTURE   – IT IS NOW.
