Don't Bother The Father Today Janes Sunday Sermon

 Happy Father’s Day to Fathers all around the world.

 Today is Their Day. Let them enjoy it in whatever they choose.

 I don't think we cherish, enough, the role that fathers play in our lives or in our kids lives. They make their way through the world of work and family and the world of play and the ever changing norms that society seems to place on them that can cause whiplash when you think about it.

Are they spending enough time with the kids?
Are they making enough money to take care of the family?
Does their wife make more money than they do?
Do they split the housework fairly with their wives?
Are they macho enough?
Do they let their feminine side show?
Can they fix everything that is broken in a house?
Do they oggle pretty woman right in front of their wives or girlfriends?
Do they remember birthdays and anniversaries?
Did they remember to change the oil in the car?
Did they shovel the snow and cut the lawn?
Are they getting a tummy bulge?
Do they spend too much time with the boys?
Can they cook?
Will they cook?
Did the take out the garbage?
Do they really listen when their wife talks to them?

 Well with a list like this-would you listen?

My Father use to look at that list and smile and say:
"Today I am in the Uncle's Role"

Can't say I blame him:)

 Don't Bother the Father Today.

 It's their day. Let them spend it anyway they choose.

 Happy Father's Day and thanks for all that you do.
