Multi Level Marketing Terminology
Multi Level Marketing  Terminology

Is Network Marketing, Online Marketing and Multi Level Marketing the same Thing?

Initially, when first considering a career change into online marketing, I was confused with the variety of terminology I kept coming across. I kept reading about 'Online Marketing, 'Internet Marketing' and 'Multi Level Marketing' (MLM).

I couldn't distinguish between them but was sure there had to be a difference.

Well, I have come to understand that they do mean the same.  You will come across many interesting articles where the author has interchanged this terminology.

Multi Level Marketing Facts:-

Once you decide to join a particular company you will be called an 'independent contractor' or 'distributor'.

This means that your potential to earn is not limited by the company.

Even though you’re working to sell the products which the company produces, you’re in business for yourself.

It’s one of the fastest and least expensive ways to have your own business.

It is typical for those who get involved with Multi Level Marketing to take a product produced by the company (buying it at a fraction of the cost) and then selling it at retail cost. This enables the earnings of a tidy profit.

Legitimate Multi Level Marketing companies will pay you for the products you sell and for the products your downline also sells. You won’t earn money on head count. This means that you don’t earn just because you get people to sign on the dotted line and become a distributor. You need to work to sell your product.

Multi Level Marketing Products.

# Before you get into Multi Level Marketing, make sure it’s a product that you fully believe in and that you think will help others. It is difficult to sell a product if you don’t totally believe in it yourself.

# It is extremely important to take the time to learn everything you can about the product or service you are promoting. Learn how long it’s been on the market and what its success rate is. Find out who the top sellers are and what they did to reach that point.

# Don't hesitate to research and ask around about the company. See if others are pleased with the way the commission pay out is set up.  Don't be afraid to ask what the most any one individual has earned and what the average earnings are. Most leaders welcome questions. It's an indication of a sharp mind and they will want you in their team.

# Be honest with yourself. Ask yourself if you believe you’d fit into the average category or if you have the determination and drive to rise above that level.

# Get to know all your start up costs and fees up front so that you’ll know what the overall cost will be to set yourself up. There’s a big difference between a $50 start up kit and a $5,000 start up kit. Usually the reason the company has to charge for kits at all is because it contains samples of products as well as promotional materials. In the long run, it is probably cheaper to get the promotional materials at the outset. It is more time and cost-effective than having to do it all yourself.

I hope this article has helped you undertand that Online Marketing, Network Marketing and Multi Level Marketing are one and the same.
