We The Enemy-Janes Sunday Sermon.

The New President Elect in America Tweeted This for New Years.

"Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don't know what to do. Love,"

There are 66 million Americans included in the many enemies list, almost 3 million more then voted for the President Elect.

There are members of the media included in the enemies list.

There are many Americans of both parties and of no party that are included in that enemies’ lists.

We are the Women of America, The Blacks of America, The Latinos of America, The Asians of American The Muslins of America, The poor of America, the  scientists of America and the innovators of America.

Our universities are filled with enemies-students and professors not afraid to speak out and speak up for American Values.

We are the people of NYC who protest outside of a gilded, golden building where shadows of people of questionable character come and go all day long while our citizens and businesses bear the cost.

We are The Americans who do not love or admire Vladimir Putin or any dictator and who still trust in our intelligence agencies
to tell the truth to us and to our leaders.

We are the Americans who believe our democracy and the ever watchful nature required of us, is the essence of who we are.

We believe that those who suppress the vote or attempt to interfere with our elections whether at home and abroad are a threat to the very thing all Americans claim to love: democracy itself.

We are the Americans who hate war and pray for nuclear disarmament not nuclear engagement or a new arms race.

We believe that our leaders should work for us not line their own pockets when they live in the people's house.

We are the Americans who still believe that loving thy neighbor as thyself, feeding the hungry and the poor and welcoming
immigrants to our shores are still our operative values.

We still visit the grand Statue of Liberty as she shines a beacon of hope over our country and those who aspire to come here.

We are the Americans who have no problem in instantly recognizing and  turning our back on White Supremacists and other hate groups.

We don’t deface churches and synagogues with hate speech and leave the name of the President Elect attached to the walls.

We don't scream at Latino and Muslim children in our schools while  invocating the name of the President Elect.

We want all of our citizens to have health care and to live a life that is free from sickness and from the poverty that can come from having to decide whether it is better to seek treatment for a disease or to die in order to not bankrupt our families.

We want to take care of our elderly and infirmed and do not resent people who need our out-stretched hand.

We don't vilify and demean those we do not agree with.

We don't live in the world of birtherism and conspiracy theories

We don't make things up and pretend they are true.

We share our bounty with others and are proud to do so.

We use our vast wealth to help not only our fellow countrymen but  people all around the world.

We respect and honor our military men and women who willingly fight and die for our collective freedom.

If this is "We the Enemy”, then count me in.

Last night our New Year Began in the Island nations of Kiribati and Samoa and ended right here in our own Hawaii.

Our New Year can be filled with hope and with wonder around the world or it can be  filled with people who lead us into dark places.

It all depends on us and the strength of our will to move forward together and not to follow into the dark places.

Happy New Year.
