That means another summer is over. Here in Florida and the enitre east coast it
also means that we are now in the peak of hurricane season. We got through August
with no storms and not even a very wet rainy season here in coastal Palm Beach County,
atleast not where we are. To the north, south and west of us it's rained lots. It's hot but
has started dropping into the mid 70's at night instead of the 80's. Thankfully we have
air conditioning. I grew up here and in the 1960's we didn't have ac's, just fans. Most
nights I would try to sleep with a cold wash cloth on my neck. Those were not the good
old days! I did love going to the beach everyday in the summers. Less than a mile from
the house-an easy walk. Still live the same distance but working all day takes away the
disire to walk anywhere. I have the next 2 weeks off so I just might do it. Think of the
money I will save on parking!
What's on your Labor Day menu? We are having sausage, pepper & onion sandwiches, potato
salad, baked beans and watermelon.
Make it a safe and happy day!
