Vive La France - We Hope - Jane's Sunday Sermon

America can be tolerant and a force for good around the world and when we are at our best, we can  light up the world with our leadership.

Sometime we go astray and tolerate that which is intolerable and then it is incumbent on all of us to speak up and speak out.

On January 21st, the women of the world  stood up by the millions and began a movement of resistance that continues unabated today.

The cities of Washington, New York, Los Angeles and Denver stood up and made it very clear that we were not going to tolerate hate and bigotry for long in our country.

From Portland to Boston, From California to New York, the often sleepy, too busy to notice, people of the United states, woke up and said NO.

What made it all the more poignant were the images of women from all over the world marching and protesting in solidarity with the Us.

Images from  London, Berlin, Sydney, Stockholm, Wellington and of course Paris added millions of marching people to the chorus of voices that said they did not want to continue the next century by returning to the days of that last one.

When a Muslim Ban was proposed in the US, Here and abroad, the people of the world said No. The courts of the US said NO.

When health care was threatened, town halls erupted in almost every district of the country. People said no.

Washington refused to listen.

On Thursday, Republicans in the House of Representatives passed an act of such immense cruelty and immorality that it was breath taking in its scope.

The goal was to dismantle the health care system in the US in order to give a tax cut of 800 billion dollars to 400 of the richest families in America by stripping the Medicaid benefits out of the current health care system.

The Republican controlled congress voted to dismantle the health care system in the US

They striped the country of the protection of Pre Existing conditions and basic medical benefits covered in the current health care system.

They agreed that is was okay to throw 24 million people off health care but, in fact ,that is only the beginning of what they did.

They agreed to allow an additional 3 to 5 million women who get their health care from Planned Parenthood to be thrown out in the cold by defunding an organization that has been respected across the country for decades.

In Fact...

All 320,000 million US citizens will be affected even those who have health care provided to them by their employers. Here's why...

States will now be able to request a waiver to opt out of covering pre existing conditions and basic medical care like mammograms ,pregnancy, prenatal care and contraception.

In fact, there are close to 100 "Pre existing" conditions that states will be able to opt out of. These conditions range from acne to cancer and they will be able to be excluded from insurance policies.

And here the kicker...Any business who provides insurance to their employees will be able to buy insurance in any state.

This will allow them to shop for the least expensive insurance policies  that cover bascially nothing.

This means that no matter what a specific state requires from health insurance companies, a business can disregard their state laws and go off and shop for some scam insurance  policy in any state willing to provide it.

Wisconsin has already expressed in an interest in returning to scam insurance policies of the past with no controls on the prices at all.

The rest of the GOP states will soon fall in line to make sure their people get the cheapest useless policies that can be offered to them. This will save many businesses a heap of money but cost the country as a whole dearly. Not to mention of course that people are going to die.

Gone are the mandates to purchase health care which is of course the only way any insurance works. Everyone has to be part of the pool or the whole system collapses. Republicans know this. It was originally their idea. They just don't seem to give a dam at this moment in time.

You cannot have good health care unless everyone is in the pool. Now the only people in the pool will be the rich and Congress.

And speaking of Prices, anyone who has a pre existing condition can be charged 5 times what healthly people are charged. Oh and by the way being a woman is considered a pre existing condition so all women will be able to be charged 5 times what healthy men pay.

So now picture this in your mind...

Once the bill passed on Thursday through the Congress a group of grinning Hyenas mostly white, aging fat men went to the white house to laugh and cheer and raise a glass of beer to celebrate the truly obscene bill  they had just passed.

The image will endure througout the ages.

Once again you will see the women of this country on the march  to wipe the silly grins off these appalling faces.

This is shameful.

Even more shameful is the Congress exempted itself from their own obscene so called Health Care bill. They will still get all of the benefits of Obamacare while the rest of us get the finger.

So Now You May be wondering Why I called This Sunday Sermon Vive La France

Our hope of seeing one country in the civilized world get a grip on itself and elect a moderate main stream politician with sense, will tell the women who marched all over the world in the millions for 4 months now that their voices are being heard and that they are not resisting in vein.

Donald Trump endorsed the right ring holocaust denier, Le Pen. Obama endorsed the centrist Macron.

In this case it is my fervent hope that the best man win.

Vive La France and let's all begin the long trek back to be the sane, caring country we once were.

Go get um
