My friend and nextdoor neighbor passed away yesterday.  He was older and has been ill for several years, but we'll miss him terribly anyway.  He and his wife have been our neighbors for almost 39 years.  He was a fine man and a great friend.  Abraham Lincoln said "It's not the years in the life, it's the life in the years".  Our friend had both; a lot of years and a lot of life in those years.
